Ahok Uploads New Vlog while Election Debate Is Ongoing

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok or BTP uploaded his latest vlog, or video blog, while the fifth election debate was still ongoing at the Sultan Hotel, Saturday, April 13.
On the newest vlog, BTP explained reasons why he joined the PDIP, Indonesian Democratic Part of Struggle. The video sparked netizens' comments. Some viewers commented that he was confused about whether he has to watch the debate or watch BTP's new vlog.
"I was watching the debate while the notification alarm from Pak BTP rang," wrote a netizen. There were some similar comments on the vlog's comment section since the debate is still running tonight.
BTP has officially joined the PDIP two days after his release from the prison sentence. "[He joined PDIP] since January 26, 2019," said one of the legislative candidates from PDIP Ima Mahdiah to Tempo on February 8.
Ima said BTP joined PDIP by his own will. DPP PDIP head Djarot Saiful Hidayat said the former Jakarta Governor had been voicing his willingness in joining Djarot's party.
From Friday until Sunday this week, Ahok visited PDIP Bali chapter together with other PDIP leaders.
