TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian badminton teams win two champions in the 2019 Finnish International Challenge in Finland presented by men’s double team Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana and mixed doubles pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati.
Rehan/Lisa surprisingly bested the champion of 2019 Swiss Open from Denmark Mathias Bay-Smidt/Rikke Soby through a rubber game of 22-20, 15-21, and 21-14 in the final on Sunday.
“We implemented half-forward game to deal with them who were relying on placing. Besides that, we just played. We believed our capabilities and focus,” said Rehan in a written statement received by Antara in Jakarta today.

The title was truly necessary for Rehan/Lisa to jack up their confidence as the new team. This game was their third match after 2019 Orleans Masters Super 100 and the 2019 Polish International Challenge.
Moreover, Bagas/Fikri concluded the final match after defeated German athletes Jones Ralfy Jansen/Peter Kaesbauer with twin scores of 21-17 and 21-17.
Indonesia had actually potential to bag home three titles in the badminton tournament. However, the other team of Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Ribka Sugiarto was named the runner-up in the final game against Japanese athletes Erina Honda-Nozomi Shimizu with the score of 15-21 and 14-21.
