TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice Presidential Candidate Ma’ruf Amin asserts that the presidential election is not a war and that it was visible with the cheerful all around comradery shown by Jokowi and Prabowo Subianto in the 4th presidential election on Saturday.
Ma’ruf saw the interaction between the two presidential candidates as a symbol of hope in maintaining peace in the country.

“The presidential election is not war, but a search for the better leader, a visionary. Which is why we shall not be adverse against fellow countrymen,” said Ma’ruf Amin in his written statement on Monday.
Ma’ruf Amin asserts that if he and Jokowi are elected to office, he will embrace everyone and diminish all negative effects of the election to start building the nation hand-in-hand. Maintaining unity, he says, must be put forth by everyone.
