Jokowi Cabinet Signs Decree to Increase Police Salaries

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo decided to increase the monthly salaries of police personnel under Government’s Decree No. 7/2019.
The cabinet’s secretariat in its official website on Monday announced that the decision is mainly meant to improve the performance and welfare of Indonesian National Police (Polri) personnel.

The government’s decree No. 17/2019 states that the lowest salary for police personnel is Rp1,643,500, while the highest is Rp 2,960,700 compared to the previous monthly salary of Rp2,819,500 for a police Adj. Brigadier.
As of police middle-ranking officers, the lowest monthly salary for a freshly recruited member is set at Rp 2,103,700 from the previous Rp2,003,300, meanwhile, 32-year dedicated Police Sub-Inspector 1st Class will receive Rp4,032,600 from the previous Rp3,838,800.
