TKN Focuses Jokowi over Ma'ruf Amin for Presidential Debate

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Campaign Team (TKN) of Jokowi - Ma'ruf said that for the first presidential debate, it would focus on preparing the presidential candidate rather than the running mate considering Jokowi would present more than Ma'ruf Amin.
“from all debate session, Kiai Ma'ruf only has one head-to-head session with Sandiaga as vice presidential candidates,” said Romahurmuziy or Romi, a member of advisory board of TKN, Tuesday, January 15. “So indeed the main preparation focuses on Pak Jokowi.”
According to Romi, Ma'ruf would be positioned as Jokowi’s partner during the event. “He [Ma'ruf Amin] will not lose his role and will be set like that,” he added.
Romi said the campaign team would prepare Ma'ruf in a political gimmick. The reason, he opined, a debate is a time to show off, so Ma’ruf must appear convincing before the public. “It requires a certain gimmick,” he said.
Romi asserted that Jokowi is ready to present in the presidential election which will take place January 17, 2019. Thus, there is no need for further debate simulation for Jokowi.
