TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, also known as Ahok, wrote a letter from his cell at the National Police Mobile Brigade headquarters (Mako Brimob) in Depok. The letter was addressed to Meri Hoegeng, wife of the famous National Police Chief Hoegeng Imam Santoso, who occupies the position in the period of 1968 to 1971, .
In his letter, Ahok expressed his desire to visit Meri after being released from prison. Ahok also mentioned that January 24, 2019, will be his day of freedom after serving a full two-year sentence for blasphemy allegation.
The letter was confirmed by Ahok's younger sister who also served as his lawyer Fifi Letty Indra. "It is true that on January 24, Ahok will be free," Fifi confirmed on Friday, December 22, 2018.
On her personal Instagram account, Fifi wrote the same information about his brother. Fifi ensured that Ahok would accept his Christmas remission from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. "It's definitely a hoax if Ahok rejects the Christmas remission," Fifi wrote.
