TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Hundreds of workers, members of all workers union in Bogor District, staged a rally before Bogor Manpower Agency on Thursday, regarding minimum wage. They rejected Government Decree (PP) No. 78 of 2015 regarding minimum wage.
The rally coordinator Rizal Randen said hundreds of workers issued three demands related to the minimum wage of Bogor district. “We refuse recommendation regarding minimum wage for Bogor District proposed by Bogor Regent to West Java Governor that using the formulation from PP No. 28/2015,” he said Thursday, November 15.
Rizal reasoned that the regulation was set based on the inflation rate and economic growth. The workers wanted a salary hike by the calculation of the market survey on the standard living components (KHL). “If using KHL rate, the increase of minimum wage will be up to 21 percent, not 8.03 percent as it is proposed,” he explained.

He mentioned hundreds of workers suggested a study on minimum wage for Bogor District to be conducted by the regional administration which was Manpower Agency.
“Based on PP 78 too, district minimum wage is decided by bipartite, that will be a boomerang for us because its completion involves worker union and businessman, moreover if the Work Unit (PUK) head can negotiate the matter with the company,” Rizal added.
Workers, he continued, also refused any salary below the minimum wage for the district or city. “This is a violation against the regulation".
As of Yesterday, November 15, hundreds of workers gathered in front of Bogor Regent office in Jalan Tegar Beriman, Bogor to demand increase in minimum salary. “We will wait here until our demand is put into consideration,” Rizal concluded.
