Jasa Raharja Pays Compensation to 38 Lion Air Victims` Families

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned insurance company PT Jasa Raharja has paid compensation to 38 beneficiaries of Lion Air JT 610`s victims. The delivery was carried out gradually after the victims had been identified by the National Police`s Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team.
“Our officers have helped to arrange administration file of 188 beneficiaries by visiting victims’ family residences, and offer condolences due to the incident,” said Jasa Raharja CEO Budi Raharjo in a written statement, Friday, November 9.
Budi noted next compensation delivery would be performed after the DVI team issued victims identification result to the victims’ family.

Budi Raharjo explained the compensation would be sent through a branch office of Jasa Raharja in Bangka Belitung for 11 victims, Banten 7 victims, Jakarta 10 victims, West Java 4 victims, South Sumatra 2 victims, East Java and West Sumatra 1 victim, as well as in Jambi and Central Java.
Jasa Raharja corporate secretary Sugeng Prastowo said his side had directly paid the compensation by visiting houses of victims’ family right after identification result issued. Based on Law No. 33 of 2017, the company handed out Rp50 billion for each victim’s family.
Jasa Raharja had collected data of 189 Lion Air victims’ beneficiaries, except one data on the family of Italian nationality which had yet to be found.
