TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Arts Council (DKJ) will hold a series of year-end art events in the DKJ FEST 2018 that will involve the entire committees throughout Jakarta such as the music, film, literature, dance, and theater committee.
“This program will orientate on how we maintain Indonesia’s art quality,” said Irawan Karseno, DKJ Chairman in a press statement Tempo received on Saturday, October 13.
The numerous art events that have queued heading towards the end of 2018 have caused the numerous agendas to be packed in a single-yet-fantastic event that will commence in October up to December.
The series of events will be officially opened with the Female Artists Art Project Exhibition on Wednesday, October 17 at the Galeri Cipta II, Taman Ismail Marzuki, and will take the theme “Yang Tersingkap di Balik Jilbab” or What Is Revealed Behind the Headscarf.
Other art events set to be held is the 17th Jakarta City Philharmonic that will feature Budi Utomo Prabowo in person. The following days such as on October 22- 24, IMAJITARI 'International Dance Film Festival' will be held by Jakarta’s dance committee that partners with creative economy board, FFTV IKJ, and Goethe Institute.
October 22 to October 29 will also see the Djakarta Teater Platform, set to present the Djakarta Teater Platform theater group. Meanwhile in early November, Pekan Komponis Indonesia is set to be held at Salihara with the 18th Jakarta Philharmonic will act as the closing event in 2018 by the Jakarta Arts Council.
