Search of Palu Earthquake Victims Extended Until Today

TEMPO.CO, Palu - The deadline of searching for the Palu earthquake victims in Central Sulawesi is extended. The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) announced the evacuation process would take place until today, Friday, October 12.


“There are people who ask for the evacuation to continue. So, it is extended for one day,” Sutopo said at the BNPB office in Jakarta, October 11, as quoted by Antara.

The process of searching for victims who are lost and affected by the collapsed buildings in the area of Palu, Sigi, Donggala, has been going on for 14 days. The emergency response period is also extended to 14 days until 26 October.


Meanwhile, the Head of Information at the Central Sulawesi Integrated Joint Task Force, Teguh Puji Raharjo, said that the government and the joint team would survey the location of temporary shelter construction for the refugees so they can start their daily activities again.

“We are still coordinating about the design,” Teguh told Tempo in Palu, Thursday, October 11.
