Yenny Wahid Declares Support for Jokowi-Ma`ruf

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Zannuba Ariffah Chafsoh Rahman Wahid or known as Yenny Wahid officially declared her support for Joko Widodo or Jokowi and Ma`ruf Amin in the 2019 presidential election.
Yenny announced her support at the National Awakening Party headquarters in Kalibata, South Jakarta, Wednesday, September 26. “We will support presidential pair No. 1. Bismillah, President Jokowi will lead us again,” said the daughter of former President Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur.
Yenny said that she and the Gus Dur cadres saw and reviewed the vision and mission carried out by each candidate. She also said that the decision was taken based on the results of the istiqarah (prayer for guidance to decide) done by nine ulemas, one of whom was a student of the famous Syrian ulema, Sheikh Wahbah Zuhaili.
The supporting groups attended the declaration to support Jokowi were the Gus Dur Barricade, Gatara (Nusantara Awakening Movement), Nusantara Women’s Network, Nusantara Santri Gathering Forum, Middle East Alumni Forum, Nusantara Village Kiai Forum, Women’s Network for the Republic of Indonesia, and Political Movement.
