TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK Agus Rahardjo said KPK was still calculating the state loss due to the payroll of active civil servants who were convicted of corruption.

“Our team is still counting it. Don’t know (the amount) yet,” Agus said at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 5.

The State Civil Service Agency (BKN) previously recorded 2,674 civil servants convicted of corruption with 317 people dishonorably dismissed. And the remaining 2,357 are still active as civil servants.

The data of all civil servants have been blocked by BKN to prevent potential state loss. But the termination of payroll for civil servants requires a decree.

KPK has asked the Civil Service Supervisory Officer (PPK) to immediately dishonorably dismiss the active civil servants who have been convicted of corruption.

KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah also appealed to the PPK to immediately follow up on this blocking with dishonorable dismissal. “We ask PPK not to be tolerant or compromise with corruptors,” he said.
