TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pollycarpus Budihari Priyanto, a convicted murderer of human rights defender Munir, fulfilled his parole term today, August 29.

“Tomorrow, his parole term ends, so he will be fully freed,” said West Java Regional Office of the Law and Human Rights Ministry (Kemenkumham) spokesman Krismono via a phone call with Tempo, Tuesday, August 28.

Pollycarpus was released on parole in 2014. The former Garuda Indonesia pilot had a mandatory report to West Java Regional Office of the Kemenkumham. “He doesn’t need to report himself after he is fully released,” Krismono added.

The Supreme Court sentenced Pollycarpus 14 years behind bars, lighter than the court’s rule on January 25, 2008, which was 20 years imprisonment.

Pollycarpus Budihari Priyanto got parole after the Law and Human Rights Ministry issued a letter No. W11.PK.01.05.06-0028 in 2014 dated November 13, 2014. The parole began on November 29, 2014.
