Social Affairs Minister Resigns on Graft Allegations

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Social Affairs Minister Idrus Marham said he had resigned from his position after meeting President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday, August 24.


“I met with the president at 10:30 a.m., I did it after receiving a notification letter yesterday about my investigation regarding the case of Eni Maulani Saragih and Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo,” he said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday.

Idrus said the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sent him a letter on his naming as a graft suspect on Thursday, August 23, and that he decided to resign afterwards.


“And of course, I must take action. Therefore, I meet the president to deliver my resignation letter as the Social Affairs Minister,” said Idrus Marham.
