Yogyakarta Sultan`s Wife Agrees Mahfud MD to be Jokowi`s VP

TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Hemas, the wife of the Yogyakarta King Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, agreed if Mahfud MD is chosen as the vice presidential candidate to accompany Joko Widodo or Jokowi in the 2019 Presidential Election.
Ratu Hemas is a member of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), she said that she is not a supporter of Mahfud MD, but according to her, his figure is suitable.
“I know he has enough capacity to run [as vice president]. Everything that is needed to be the vice president, he has it, he just doesn’t have a stamp. Indeed, this country needs the figure,” said Hemas in Yogyakarta, Thursday, August 9.
She said because Mahfud had a background in law, the need for law enforcement in this country needed a figure like him. If he gets elected, it can be a hope to a lot of people’s expectation.
“But it does not rule out anyone chosen by the president (Jokowi) or Pak Prabowo. “Both parties need the figure that can run the government well,” he said.
Ratu Hemas said that this country does not only need the state security, but the government must also be better.
