TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The death toll from 7.0 Richter Scale magnitude earthquake in North Lombok and surrounding areas, Sunday, August 5, amounted to 82 as the West Nusa Tenggara Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) noted, early Monday, August 6.

BPBD Head of Emergency and Logistics, Agung Pramuja, in a written statement said the death toll in North Lombok Regency was 65 people, as well as nine In West Lombok Barat District, two from Central Lombok, two people from East Lombok, and four people in Mataram City.

"That’s the report we have received thus far per 04:00 local times," he said.

The 7.0 Richter Scale magnitude earthquake jolted Lombok and Sumbawa Islands on Sunday at 19:46 WITA (Central Indonesian Time).

The quake epicenter was located at 8.3 south latitude, 116.48 east longitude of North Lombok Regency, with a depth of 15 kilometers. The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated an early warning tsunami issued due to the tremor had ended on Sunday at 09:25 local times.
