TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Central Jakarta Police Chief Sr. Comr. Roma Hutajulu said his office had never received a report of loss at Hotel Acacia, Central Jakarta, in connection with the warning from the Twitter account of Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Indonesia.

This statement responded to the complaints of a number of Saudi citizens who lost their goods while staying at the Hotel Acacia. “There is no report,” said Roma when contacted by Tempo on Wednesday, July 25.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Indonesia, Osama Mohammad Abdullah al-Shuaibi, warned Saudis to avoid or to not stay at Hotel Acacia. It was conveyed by Ambassador al-Shuaibi via Twitter, as quoted from Al Arabiya, Monday, July 23.

The warning was issued after Saudi embassy received many reports from Saudi citizens about theft in the hotel rooms, including in the safety boxes provided by the hotel.

Ambassador al-Shuaibi himself has checked the truth after receiving complaints about the theft at the hotel located in the Kramat Raya area, Senen, Central Jakarta.

According to the Central Jakarta Police Chief Roma, in relation to the circulated tweet, the police never received reports of loss or theft of goods, either from citizens of Saudi Arabia or Indonesia who stay at the hotel. Currently, he continued, Hotel Acacia is being renovated so there are not many visitors.
