TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fayakhun Andriadi, a corruption suspect in the purchase of satellite monitoring equipment at the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla), has returned Rp2 billion to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“The suspect, FA (Fayakhun Andriadi) has returned the money amounting to Rp2 billion,” said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah at his office on Thursday, July 19.

Febri said Fayakhun returned the Rp2 billion money through his lawyer in cash. It was submitted to the depository account owned by the KPK.

According to Febri, the money will be used as evidence in the case. Febri said KPK is still processing the case file.

KPK has set Fayakhun as a suspect in the bribery case since February 14. The Golkar Party politician was arrested on March 28 at the KPK Detention Center after being examined.

Bakamla bribery case began when KPK and TNI held a sting operation in December 2016. In the operation, KPK arrested four people; two of them were TNI members.

During the trial of Bakamla satellite bribe, it is known that several members of the House of Representatives, including Fayakhun, were involved. KPK suspected Fayakhun was involved in smoothening Bakamla project in the 2016 state budget at the House of Defense Commission. Fayakhun Andriadi allegedly received money worth Rp12 billion and US$300 while still serving as a member of the House's Commission I.
