Bekasi Airport Train Passengers Soar 500 Percent on Day 2

TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - The people in Bekasi have enthusiastically used the airport train from the Bekasi station to Soekarno-Hatta airport, Tangerang. On the second operational day of the train, the number of its passengers reached up to 320 people in six trips.
“It’s a significant increase compared to that of the first day,” PT Railink spokesperson Diah Suryandari told Tempo via phone call today.
PT Railink is the airport train operator under state-owned railway operator PT KAI and state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II.
The airport train from the Bekasi station reportedly served 64 passengers during its first day of operation. On the second day, the number of passengers in six of seven trips from the Bekasi station to the Airport station and vice versa skyrocketed by fivefold.

“It’s above our target, we targeted 100 passengers daily for the initial operation,” she said.
According to Diah, the people in Bekasi were aware of the existence of the train, which resulted in the increase.
Airport train Bekasi-Soetta departure schedules are at 10:05, 11:10, 13:13, and 14:11 local time, while those from Soetta airport are at 07:50, 08:50, 10:50, and 11:50 local time. The traveling time is approximately 90 minutes.
Diah went on to say that the first departure of airport train from the Bekasi station was the most in-demand with 146 passengers, followed by the second departure with 39 passengers. “We have yet to note the figure on the last trip at 14:11,” she added.
