TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - A surge of passengers occurred at the Soekarno-Hatta airport train station. People who choose to use airplanes in their homecoming prefer to use the airport train to get to the airport.
The increasing number of passengers was reported to reach around 5,000 people. President Director of Angkasa Pura II, Muhammad Awaluddin, said that airport train is gaining popularity as an alternative method of transportation for people going to the airport.
"Since it was opened earlier this year, the Soekarno-Hatta airport train always trying to accommodate people who wanted to use airport or aviation services in going to the airport," said Awaluddin.
Awaluddin added that passengers should not worry about reaching the airport on time because of the airport train schedule continues to be improved. "We offer the most effective Minimum Connecting Time [MCT] by integrating the Soekarno-Hatta airport train and the Skytrain to allow passengers to transfer from the airport train station to the departure terminal," Awaluddin said.
Operational and Technical Director of PT Railink Porwanto Handry Nugroho said that as the operator of the Soekarno-Hatta airport train, PT Railink will continue to make improvements to provide better services for passengers and to support the homecoming period.
