TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Police's Special Counter-Terrorism Detachment 88, also known as Densus 88, arrested three people in Blitar, East Java on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. The three individuals were suspected to be involved in a terrorist network.
Chief of Bajang Sub-District, in Talun District Mislan said that the police have arrested a doctor identified as NH, who rented a house belonging to Nanang, a fertilizer businessman. "[The house] was rented for three years. But the family [who rented the house] keep to themselves," Mislan said on Wednesday, June 13, 2018.
Mislan admitted that he is not familiar with the owner of the house. However, he was suspicious about the activities in the house. Mislan said that one week before the arrest, personnel from the Army and the Police often come to his house to ask about the activities and any information related to the owner of the rented house.
"One week before the [arrest], the army and police asked for information about the person who rented the house, they also ask whether the person is at home or not," Mislan said.
Mislan was surprised when Densus 88 came to the house. He never suspected that people living in the house would be involved in any legal violation.
In addition to NH, Densus 88 also arrested SZ and AN. Members of Densus 88 also searched through the house rented by NH, who is known to open an alternative medicine clinic.
