TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined the Social Minister Idrus Marham on Monday, May 21. He was examined as a witness to a corruption suspect for the purchase of satellites and drones at the Marine Security Agency or Bakamla satellite bribery, Fayakhun Andriadi.

"KPK needs his information to clarify the process of discussing and endorsing the project," said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah explained in a written statement, Monday, May 21.

Previously, the KPK has examined a number of other Golkar politicians, the Central Board Treasurer Yorrys Raweyai, Deputy Chairman of the Economy of the Jakarta Regional Executive Council Sugandhi Bakrie, Jakarta Regional Representative Council (DPD) Secretary Basri Baco, and North Jakarta DPD Chairman Olsu Babay.

KPK is tracing the alleged flow of bribe over the budget discussion of two Bakamla projects to Golkar Party. It became the reason the KPK investigators called and examined a number of Golkar politicians as witnesses to a corruption case in the Rp1.2 trillion projects.

Bakamla's bribery case began when the KPK and TNI (National Army) held a hand-catching operation in December 2016. In the operation, KPK arrested four civilians, while the TNI arrested two of its members.

During the trial of the case, a number of witnesses and evidence have shown the bribery also flowed to the several members of the House of Representatives (DPR), including Fayakhun.

KPK suspected Fayakhun is involved in making the Bakamla project in the fiscal year of 2016 in the House Defense Commission. For his role, Fayakhun allegedly received Rp12 billion.
