TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After being postponed for almost a week, the KA (Train) Solo Express serving Solo Balapan-Kutoarjo route is inaugurated today, Thursday, May 17. Previously, the train is scheduled to be inaugurated on May 11.

Director General of Railway of the Ministry of Transportation Zulfikri said the KA Solo Express will provide an alternative for people in transportation, especially by train.

“Besides the KA Prameks which has been as the mainstay train for the Solo residents, Yogya, Kutoarjo and the surrounding areas, now PT KAI presents a new train, namely KA Solo Express,” he said.

Zulfikri said for four days, on May 17 to 20, PT KAI will provide the free ticket for Solo Express passengers.

After the free period, starting next Monday, May 21, PT KAI will start applying a promo rate of Rp40,000 per passenger for Kutoarjo-Solo Balapan (round-trip) and Rp30,000 per passenger for Kutoarjo-Yogyakarta (round-trip) or Yogyakarta-Solo Balapan (round-trip).

“Furthermore, especially for the train trip during the Eid day period, ie, 5-26 June 2018, PT KAI will charge Rp60,000 per passenger for Kutoarjo-Solo Balapan (round-trip) and Rp45,000 per passenger for Kutoarjo- Yogyakarta (round-trip) or Yogyakarta-Solo Balapan (round-trip),” he said.
