Minister Responds to Fact That State Employee Involved in Bombing

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin admits that the ministry has limited power in monitoring the daily activities of its civil servants (PNS). “We have limited resources to monitor in detail of each civil servants outside of the office hours,” said Lukman in his office.
His statement is a response to the recent finding which revealed that the wife of Budi Satrijo, the terrorist that was involved in the bombing spree in Surabaya was in fact an East Java civil servant.
That information was confirmed after a confirmation was announced by the Inspectorate General that specifically tackles issues such as this, “We mobilized a unit, and it’s in fact true. It has been confirmed [that the terrorist’s wife was a PNS],” said Lukman Hakim.
Previously reported, the anti-terror special squad unit detained 13 people suspected to be involved in the suicide bombings of three Churches in Surabaya and the case in Sidoarjo. East Java Police spokesman said that the arrests were.
