TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The defendant in Setya Novanto's obstruction of justice case, Fredrich Yunadi, protested the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutors for presenting Commissioner Rizka Anung Nata, a KPK investigator, as a witness.

"The witnesses summoned are only the incriminating ones," said the advocate at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday, May 7.

Fredrich expressed his objection on the grounds that the prosecutor had not presented all the witnesses listed in the investigation report (BAP).

Among the witnesses are Setya's adjutant, Reza Pahlevi; and Golkar Party politician Aziz Samuel, whom he said were defense witnesses.

"They have never summoned the witnesses whose testimonies in the BAP defend us," he said.

Rizka Anung is an additional witness unlisted in the BAP. Roy said Rizka was the head of task force that handled the e-KTP graft case, in which Setya Novanto was among the suspects. Roy said the examination into the BAP witnesses was enough.

KPK prosecutors, meanwhile, rebuffed the objection and said it was unnecessary to bring back the witnesses listed in the BAP.

"We present an additional fact-finding witness because the evidence is sufficient."

Fredrich Yunadi said Reza and Aziz must be presented as witnesses because his side was sans the authority to summon any witness from law enforcement bodies , including Reza.

"It’s hard to summon Reza, we have to ask the National Police chief for permission, Your Honor," said Fredrich.

Presiding judge Saifuddin Zuhri said he would take note of Fredrich Yunadi's objection, and promised to give him a chance to summon defense witnesses.

"We take note of the defendant's objection and we invite the defendant to summon defense witnesses."
