100,000 Students Pass the 2018 SNMPTN

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 110,946 students have officially passed the 2018 state university entrance selection (SNMPTN) at 85 Indonesian state universities across the country.


“That number is from the total 586,155 applicants that were selected by the central committee,” said the SNMPTN central committee chairman Ravik Karsidi in Jakarta on Tuesday, April 17.


Furthermore, 28,069 out of the 586,155 students come from the Bidikmisi program, which is an educational grant especially targeted for students that are financially less fortunate but have academic potentials.

The following is the specific list of regions and the students that passed the SNMPTN; East Java (14,518 students), West Java (11,519), Central Java (9,204), North Sumatra (8,079), Aceh (5,282), South Sulawesi (5,168), West Sumatra (4,545), Jakarta (4,025), Southeast Sulawesi (3,734), and Riau (3,316).


Meanwhile, the top 10 universities that accepted the most candidates from the SNMPTN are University of Brawijaya (3,341 students), University of Haluoleo (3,046), Dipenogoro (2,929), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (2,563), Padang State University (2,476), Hasanuddin University (2,466), Tadulako University (2,374), Bandung Institute of Technology (2,359), Malang State University (2,356), and Jember University (2,325).


The result of the state university entrance selection (SNMPTN) can be accessed through pengumuman.snmptn.ac.id.
