KPK to Probe Seven Witnesses in Zumi Zola Graft Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission will quiz seven witnesses in a corruption case implicating non-active Jambi governor Zumi Zola. The Indonesian graft-buster has named Zumi Zola as a suspect in a graft-ridden construction permit in the province.


KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said the seven witnesses came from five companies. “Two of them are managing directors,” he said at the KPK headquarters on Monday, April 16, 2018.


The seven are managing director of PT Merangin Karya Ismail Ibrahim and his staffer, Nano; managing director of PT Usaha Batanghari Abdul Kadir; PT Hendy Mega Pratama director Irwan Nasution; PT Blistik Jaya director Djamino; and PT Dua Putri Persada director Fatmawati, and Handono alias Aliang.

The KPK named Zumi Zola as a suspect on February 2, 2018 for his alleged involvement in a bribery case worth Rp6 billion surrounding the procurement of a project construction permit in Jambi.


Besides Zumi Zola, the KPK also named the province’s Public Works Agency chief, Arfan, as a suspect in the case.
