Lion Air Cannot Commit to be On-time after 50 Aircraft Purchase

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lion Air Group CEO Edward Sirait could not guarantee that its flight schedule would be on time following the purchase of 50 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft.
Edward reasoned that the flight delay is unpredictable and that means the aircraft might be damaged accidentally. “I am not God,” said Edward after signing the purchase deal in Grand Hyatt Hotel, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, April 10.
Edward stated no one could predict any aircraft technical problem such as flat tires or bad weather. However, Lion Group would take a precaution measure to deal with the delay.

The low-cost airway previously delayed several flights. The recent case was the delay of its ten flight schedules from and to Syamsudin Noor international airport in Banjarmasin due to the runway repairment.
By purchasing 50 Boeing jets, Lion Air Group focused its way to expand long-haul flights to Asia countries such as Lombok-China and Batam-China route. Edward added the company still considers another route.
Boeing 737 MAX 10, which would be sent from the U.S. in 2021, could operate for seven to eight hours with its 43.8 meters in length or 143 feet and accommodates 200 passengers.
