KPK Arrests Zumi Zola, Tjahjo Kumolo Appoints Acting Governor

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo appointed Jambi Deputy Governor Fachrori Umar as Acting Governor following the arrest of Zumi Zola by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).


"This afternoon the Jambi Deputy Governor appointed by the Minister of Home Affairs on behalf of the central government, as Acting Governor," said Tjahjo on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.


KPK arrested Jambi Governor Zumi Zola on Monday, April 9, 2018. Zumi was immediately arrested after being examined as a suspect by the KPK.


Zumi was allegedly involved in a bribery case related to projects at the Department of Public Works and People's Housing in Jambi for the period of 2014-2017. Zumi allegedly received IDR 6 billion in connection with the project permits in Jambi Province. Zumi was named as a suspect on 2 February, 2018.
