TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - AirAsia X Indonesia airline offers a cost-effective trip to Japan for Indonesian travelers following the launch of the Jakarta-Tokyo route.

"Japan has a cultural and historical attraction, also a natural landscape that makes it an exotic destination for Indonesians," said AirAsia Indonesia Commercial Director Rifai Taberi on Wednesday, April 4.

According to Rifai, Japan currently ranks first as an international destination that is wanted to be visited by the Indonesian tourists in 2018.

Supported by the visa-free for e-passport holders, the public’s high interest to visit Japan makes a huge opportunity for AirAsia to open the route.

Rifai added the presence of Jakarta-Tokyo direct route via Narita Airport is expected to encourage more visitors from Indonesia to Japan and vice versa.

AirAsia X Jakarta-Tokyo route will be operated daily from May 1 and will be served using the Airbus A330-300 aircraft with 365 economy class capacity and 12 Premium Flatbed.

AirAsia X Indonesia on April 2-8 offers the prices starting from Rp1,190,000 for one-way Jakarta-Tokyo (Narita) route, and Rp1,290,000 (JPY 9,900) for Tokyo (Narita)-Jakarta one-way route, with a total of Rp2,480,000 for the return flight (terms and conditions apply).

The travel period for the promo ticket is from May 1 to July 30.
