AirAsia Wins Best Asean Marketing Campaign Award

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - AirAsia Airlines won an award at the prestigious Asean Tourism Association (ASEANTA) Awards for Excellence 2017.

The AirAsia campaign entitled "Think Asean, Think AirAsia" was named The Best Asean Marketing and Promotion Campaign at the 30th ASEANTA Awards for Excellence awards, held at Hotel Borobudur, Jakarta.

"It is an honor for us to be re-elected as an airline with the best Asean marketing campaign," Dendy Kurniawan, CEO of AirAsia Group in Indonesia, said in a statement on Thursday, August 10.

The award trophy was handed over by Tourism Minister Arief Yahya to Dendy Kurniawan who was representing the AirAsia Group.

Dendy said AirAsia is committed as an Asean airline and will always be ready to explore the region. He was delighted that the campaign to promote ASEAN could play a role in making Southeast Asia an ideal destination for tourists.

The campaign, which took place on August 8 to 14, 2016, and in connection with the Asean Day, features a collection of photos and uploads of places required to visit in the Asean region through airline social media and digital versions of 3Sixtyo travel (in-flight magazine). In addition, the campaign also highlighted the diversity of the AirAsia food menu inspired by Asean flavors.

The campaign also uses a series of YouTube videos about activities that can be done and foods that are worth a try in each Asean country. All efforts that are run by AirAsia is also fully supported by the promo price seats to save RM10 to all Asean destinations.

The ASEANTA Awards for Excellence is a prestigious annual award for tourism activists and actors, who have contributed in developing and promoting tourism products in the Asean region. This award consists of six categories, among others, Best Asean Travel Article, Best Asean Tourism Photo, Best Asean New Tourism Attraction, Best Asean Airline Program and Best Asean Cultural Preservation Effort.
