TEMPO.CO, San Francisco - According to the latest report from TechCrunch, Apple has proposed several emojis that would better represent people with disabilities and depict accessibility-related tools such as hearing aids, guide dogs, and prosthetic limbs.

Apple has proposed this to the Unicode Consortium, which is a group that issues certifications for new emojis for iPhones, Androids, and other computers.

The proposed emojis include emojis to represent people with physical disabilities and people who suffer from hidden disabilities such as Autism, anxiety, and PTSD.

According to Apple’s proposal to Unicode Consortium, the company believes that “technology should be accessible to everyone and should provide an experience that serves individual needs,” as cited by the tech-media giant.

Apple has consulted with the American Council of the Blind, the Cerebral Palsy Foundation and the National Association of the Deaf to develop the emojis.

Meanwhile, Unicode is set to meet next month. If it gets approved, the emojis will appear in Emoji 12.0, which is expected to be released in March of 2019.
