TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno plans to arrange the street vendors (PKL) from Jatibaru Raya street to Tanah Abang Sky Bridge. The regulation as a solution to demands on re-opening the road which currently partially closed for the street vendors.

Sandiaga Uno said Jatibaru Tanah Abang street cannot be opened soon. The reason, he stated, the construction of sky bridge takes three to four months for relocating the street vendors that now still needed a temporary place.

"I can’t make a promise, building a sky bridge will take three to four months, so do not expect to be done quickly," said Sandiaga at Jakarta City Hall, Monday, March 5.

Sandiaga Uno did not elaborate the concept of the sky bridge. He said that the medium-term planning concept is still waiting for the governor approval, Anies Baswedan. As for the long-term arrangement of Tanah Abang area, he said the government will build the transit-oriented development (TOD).

Until now Sandiaga Uno has yet mentioned where the street vendors Block G will be relocated while the building revitalized. "PD Pasar Jaya will explain later," he said.

On Friday last week, Sandiaga Uno gave a signal to open Jatibaru Raya street, Tanah Abang following the midterm city planning, which will come out this month. "(the street) will certainly be opened," said Sandiaga.
