TEMPO.CO, Banda Aceh - Turkish Company Hitay Holding will soon manage a geothermal project in Gunong Geurudong, North Aceh. It was delivered by the company’s chairman Mehmet Emin Hitay when he met Aceh Governor Irwandi Yusuf in Banda Aceh yesterday, Feb. 2.
Mehmet requested Aceh government to help to gain permits from Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry and to process Assignment of Preliminary Survey and Exploration (PSPE) so that they can immediately survey the location of exploration.

Mehmet explained that the meeting is a follow up to MoU between Aceh administration and Hitay Company in Turkey a while ago. He expected for this cooperation to kick off especially since Aceh and Turki maintain a close relationship. "If this works, this will help Aceh and more investors will invest in Aceh."
In accordance with the preliminary data, Mehmet continued, Gunong Geurudong situated in North Aceh Utara’s mountainous areas, Bener Meriah and Central Aceh have great geothermal potential.
