TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) recorded 63,015,620 passengers in 2017. The number rose8 percent compared to the previous year with 58,195,484 passengers.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport Executive General Manager M. Suriawan Wakan stated that the highest surge of passengers is evident in international routes reaching 12 percent lower than that of 2016. In 2016, there were 13,131,035 passengers of international flights.
"In 2017, it hit 14,718,973 passengers," Suriawan said on Saturday (6/1).
Domestic passengers also increased from 45.064.449 in 2016 to 48.295.647 in 2017, in other words it had 7 percent increase.
In addition, the total of aircraft movement in 2017 increased dramatically as much as 8 percent with 447,390 from 413,781 in 2016.
The rise resulted from cooperation with airlines and the Tourism Ministry, he continued. He also said that this is due to AP II commitment to improve operational qualities and service excellence.
