TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The panel of judges of the Corruption Court has rejected Setya Novanto’s exception in the electronic ID cards (e-KTP) graft case. Chief judge Yanto said that the indictment issued by the prosecutors of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has met the formal and material requirements.
Yanto said that the indictment is valid according to the law and is acceptable as the basis of the investigation into Setya Novanto.
As such, the trial against Setya will continue. Judge Yanto said that the e-KTP trial will resume on Thursday, January 11. Thereafter, trial hearings will be held twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays.
“Trial is adjourned until Thursday, January 11, 2018, to examine witnesses proposed by the prosecutors,” Yanto said.
Setya Novanto accepted the judges’ decision to reject his exception.
