TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will bring the suspect in the electronic ID cards (e-KTP) graft case Setya Novanto to a preliminary hearing today, spokesman Febri Diansyah said.
Setya Novanto was questioned by the KPK yesterday. Febri said the suspect was in good condition and would be able to attend today’s hearing.
As of 8:55 am Jakarta time, Setya had yet to appear at the Corruption Court.
The e-KTP graft trial against Setya was held on December 13. Prosecutors charged Setya with illegally enriching himself by accepting USD7.3 million in the e-KTP project.
Setya later read out his note of exception on December 20. His defense lawyers said that the indictment was not accurate, obscure and not complete.
The trial continued with a hearing on the prosecutors’ response on December 28. A judgement will be heard today in a preliminary hearing at the Corruption Court.
Setya Novanto’s lawyer Maqdir Ismail said that his client was prepared to attend the hearing.
