TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lombok International Airport resumes operations on Monday morning after being closed yesterday afternoon due to volcanic ash of Mount Agung eruption.

State-owned AirNav Indonesia Operations Director Wisnu Darjono stated in a press release that at least 23 flights from and to Lombok were canceled due to the closure.

Wisnu noted that the flights consist of 10 flights from Lombok, namely Lion Air JT965 & JT975 Praya-Surabaya route, JT955 Praya-Denpasar, JT953 Praya-Bandung, JT655 Praya-Jakarta, Wings Air WON1963 Praya-Surabaya, Batik Air BTK6659 Praya-Jakarta, Air Asia AXM 307 & 309 Praya-Kuala Lumpur and Sill Air SLK127 Praya-Singapore.

Meanwhile, 13 flights to Lombok from various cities were also canceled, namely Batik Air BTK6658 Jakarta-Praya, Lion Air JT822 & JT642 Surabaya-Praya, JT954 Denpasar-Praya, JT274 Yogyakarta-Praya, JT652 & JT650 Jakarta-Praya, JT952 Bandung-Praya, Wings Air WON1962 Denpasar-Praya, WON1858 Surakarta-Praya, Air Asia AXM 306 & 308 Kuala Lumpur-Praya and Silk Air SLK128 Singapore-Praya.

As the airport reopens, Wisnu expects that passengers can resume their daily activities and passenger congestion can be reduced.

Wisnu said that AirNav will continue to monitor the latest conditions of Mount Agung. He said that the airport operations will be adjusted accordingly. “Since safety is the most important factor in our navigation services,” he said.
