Democratic Party Prepares AHY for Presidential Candidates

TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Democratic Party deputy chairman Syarif Hasan confirmed that his party will nominate a candidate for president or vice president which is Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono or AHY. He mentioned that 2019 Presidential Election will ignite a new spirit to Democratic Party.


"Democratic Party has decided to put AHY up as president or vice president candidate," Syarif said in Bogor on Friday, November 3.

Syarif stated that AHY is currently establishing intensive communication with the people. Furthermore, the party is also motivated to support the policy of the party. "But again this candidacy rests upon AHY's electability," he said.


At the moment, Syarif revealed, AHY places third on electability. Thus, the party will take measures to boost it.


Syarif claimed that the party will closely observe the latest political constellation especially regarding the perception of the Supreme Court to judicial review of General Election Law.


"If it is rejected, I predict that there will only be two candidates or three depending on the coalition," he mentioned.
