TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of Democratic Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono or SBY said that he objects any weakening attempts against the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
The Sixth Indonesian President explains that the public is already aware of the attempts to weaken and even disband the KPK.
“I wasn't born yesterday, [especially] in the political and governmental world. Whatever the reason, if it aims to weaken the KPK, the people will notice it, we will notice it,” said the sixth Indonesian president during a discussion at the headquarters of the Democratic Party on Wednesday, September 13.
SBY asserted that the Democratic Party fully supports the KPK as an institution monitoring over corruption, regardless the fact that some of his party members in the past have been involved in cases related to corruption.
