Online Taxi Officially Available at Soekarno-Hatta Airport

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II officially legalized the online taxi service at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
An online taxi company Grab will partner with the Police Cooperative (Inkoppol). The Soekarno-Hatta airport will provide a booth for the consumers who intend to order the e-hailing service at every terminal such as Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
According to Yado Yarismano, Angkasa Pura II Vice President of Corporate Communication, the previous mode of transports such as regular taxis and buses available at the airport could only manage to serve 30 percent of total demands.
“The addition to the airport train operations means that the total public transport can accommodate up to 45 percent of airport visitors,” said Yado.
Currently, e-hailing company permitted to operate at the airport only limited to the Inkoppol members that gained the official permit from the Greater Jakarta Transportation Agency (BPTJ). The online taxis that enter Soekarno-Hatta Airport must also have a special sticker.
