TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II is checking for a short circuit faced by Soekarno-Hatta Airport Skytrain during its trial run on October 10. There was a popping sound and smoke when the train suddenly stopped.
Tempo gathered that Skytrain power rail had issues at 11:45 as it arrived at Terminal 2 shelter. The sound was heard right under the train. Passengers managed to disembark and doors were opened normally.
Technicians found that some parts on the side of the track were broken. The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Skytrain train was not operated while the track was being fixed.
Yado denied that the source of the popping sound and smoke was produced under the train. “The trouble was found only on the track, Skytrain power rail,” he said.
He added that the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Skytrain was not operated during track reparation and evaluation for around two hours. “It later resumes normal operations,” he said.
