TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Feri Amsari, Director of the Center for Constitutional Studies (Pusako) at Andalas University, suggested the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to publically release the recordings of House of Representatives Speaker Setya Novanto’s conversation with several e-KTP graft case suspects.
“Just make them public,” said Feri Amsari on October 2.

Feri argues that the recordings are currently considered as accessible public documents, considering that it was rejected as evidence in court. The public can decide whether the recordings are suitable as evidence in court by releasing the recordings.
KPK named Setya Novanto on July 17, as one of many suspects in the e-KTP or electronic ID graft case that caused Rp2.3 trillion in state losses.
Setya, who is also the Functional Group (Golkar) Party Chairman, filed a pretrial motion following the suspect naming with the South Jakarta District Court. The judge that led the pretrial motion, Cepi Iskandar, viewed that the case was illegitimate since the evidence against Setya originates from another case.
