TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - President Joko Widodo, also known as Jokowi, called on the public to use trains during the 72nd anniversary of Indonesian state-owned railway company Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).
“Hopefully, KAI can improve even further and will eventually be a favorite transportation mode,” said President Jokowi in a press release on Friday, September 29.

Jokowi himself has his own way in promoting railway trains as a mode of transport.
The president with his entourage boarded on a commuter line from Juanda Station and disembarked at Cikini Station. President Jokowi spared his time to interact with people at the station.
Also accompanying President Jokowi in the event were Juanda Station director Rochman, Head of the Protocol Bureau Ari Setiawan, and Presidential Security Detail Commander Maj. Gen Suhartono.
