According to Indonesia’s Consul General in Istanbul Herry Sudradjat, the Turkish people are really passionate about coffee in general. Therefore, he argues that the involvement of the Aceh's coffee business players at the Istanbul Coffee festival is right.
“In order to make Turkey as [one of Indonesia’s] captive market, Indonesian coffee must first compete with coffees from other countries such as Kenya, Costa Rica, Peru, Guatemala, and Brazil,” said Herry.
According to Iwan Wijaya Mulyanto, an official at the Indonesian Consulate General in Istanbul, the Aceh Gayo coffee attracted positive attention from local visitors at the festival. They were interested in the solid coffee taste that is extracted from the Gayo beans.
