Twitter Launches Worldwide Video Relay

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Twitter announces the first worldwide video relay named #EveryCharacterMatters. The relay will feature 24 hours of continuous contents made by 40 creators from 10 countries, including Indonesia.


Twitter #EveryCharacterMatters will be launched August 10 from the top of Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia. It will continue to Melbourne, Tokyo, Singapore, Jakarta, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, London, Sao Paulo, Toronto, New York, Mexico City, Denver and Vancouver.


In a written statement received by Tempo yesterday, Twitter Indonesia explained that online community @TravellerKaskus is the only Indonesian content creator joining the campaign. They will start a periscope session today at 4 pm Jakarta time.


The contents made for #EveryCharacterMatters will feature various interests of the content creators, ranging from musicians collaborating with their fans in their next songs to travelers showing the world about the uniqueness of their city to creators sharing information or giving opinions on crucial issues.


“Since the first time we used Twitter in 2012, we have shared the coolness and uniqueness of various cities in Indonesia to our followers,” @TravellerKaskus community said in the written statement.


“#EveryCharacterMatters allow us to show the potential of the nation to the audience in other countries,” they added.


Twitter has also released a special emoji to celebrate diverse characters, interests and opinion in the platform. Users can use the hashtag #EveryCharacterMatters or #SetiapKarakterBerarti to get the emoji in their tweets.
