TEMPO.CO, Denpasar - A photo exhibition is held at Santrian Gallery in Sanur, Bali, to commemorate the Indonesian Independence Day. The exhibition, themed “Unity in Diversity”, is held until August 19.
“Every captured moment reflects diversity in Bali communities,” curator I Made Iwan Darmawan said.
Photographers, such as Anom Manik Agung, I Made Adi Dharmawan, and Adek Arya Wahyu Diputra, translate the “Unity in Diversity” philosophy in various photos. They also depict differences in a joint activity, such as art collaboration and ceremony.
Other photos depict interfaith socialization in open and free activities, such as those captured by Taum Sardika, I Nyoman Kusala, and Wayan Gunada. Some photos convey a message that diversity is a party of the unity in the Unitary State of the Republic Indonesia.
A close-up photo of a Papuan tribe would make anyone believe in the message conveyed by the photo, entitled “I’m Indonesia” by I Wayan Gunayasa.
“The displayed photos will be sent to a photography competition and judged by a photographer, journalist, and cultural activist,” Iwan said.
