TEMPO.CO, Aceh - State oil and gas company Pertamina optimized distributions of diesel fuel, locally known as Solar, to West Aceh due to soaring demands.
The diesel fuel availability in Aceh has improved, and supplies have been distributed using tanker trucks from Meulaboh. Currently, diesel fuel in West Aceh is available at four gas filling stations.
Over the last few days, demands on diesel fuel dramatically increased by 8 percent from 173 kiloliters to 186 kiloliters. Earlier on July 29, 2017, the figure peaked to 280 kiloliters, increasing by 62 percent when compared to regular days.
By July 2017, Pertamina Marketing Region I in Aceh had distributed 187,677 kiloliters of diesel fuel in Aceh, increasing by 17 percent compared to last year’s 160,000 kiloliters.
Under Presidential Regulation No. 191/2014, subsidized diesel fuel is accessible to micro businesses, fishery, agriculture, transportation, and public service sectors. Businesses operating in the sectors are required to obtain a recommendation from related local administration’s working unit (SKPD) to access the fuel.
Pertamina is currently working with local police and related institutions in Aceh to ensure that the subsidized fuel distribution will not miss the target. Pertamina has also provided alternative diesel fuel variants, such as Dexlite and Pertadex, to suit vehicles specifications.
