Jakarta Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat said that former drug users will be exposed to numerous job opportunities in hope that they would be productive and escape from drug addiction.

Djarot has called on the public, particularly Jakarta residents, to help former drug users by embracing them back into the society. Djarot explained that many rehabilitated drug users relapsed when they are alienated by the society.

“Give the former users a chance to be productive. Don’t alienate them,” Djarot said at the City Hall on Monday, July 31.

The trainings include those in the handicraft and fashion sectors that will be held by the Cooperative and SME Agency and the Industry Agency. In addition, the Jakarta administration will provide trainings related to financial management and help former drug users to continue their education.
