TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has slapped Irvanto Hendra Pambudi, the nephew of House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Setya Novanto with a travel ban in relation to the investigation into the electronic ID card (e-KTP) graft case.

"Witness Irvanto Hendra Pambudi has been banned from traveling abroad for questioning purposes in the E-KTP case for suspect Setya Novanto," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said in Jakarta yesterday.

Febri said that Irvanto has been banned for traveling abroad for six months effective from July 21. Earlier, Irvanto has said that he led the Murakabi Sejahtera consortium, which was one of the participant in the auction in the e-KTP project.

In the previous session of e-KTP graft trial, Irvanto admitted that he was Novanto’s nephew. The indictment says that Novanto had a major influence on the DPR decision over the electronic ID card budgeting. "Setya Novanto is my uncle on my mother’s side," the KPK spokesman said.

Irvanto also said that he was an active member of Golkar Party led by his uncle and even served as the party’s central executive board (DPP) treasurer, regarding the relation to the e-KTP graft case.
